Basic Definitions
- Cost-Per-Click (CPC): AdWords charges your account for each click your ad receives.
- Quality Score: Measures the quality of your keyword and ad, and determines your minimum bid. It is determined by your keyword's clickthrough rate (CTR), ad relevance and historical performance. The higher your Quality Score, the lower your minimum bid.
- Minimum Bid: The minimum bid is the least amount you pay per click for your keyword to show ads--based on Quality Score.
- Clickthrough Rate (CTR): The more relevant your ads, the more often users will click on them, resulting in a higher CTR. (CTR = # of ad clicks/# of impressions x 100)
